Product recall
We have been advised by Garmin of a product recall affecting some nüvi models.
Models that may be affected are:
- nüvi 200W, nüvi 250W, nüvi 260W
- nüvi 7xx
Only some units of the above type are affected. To determine if a particular
unit is affected, the unit serial number can be submitted at the following web
site:
www.garmin.com/nuvibatterypcbrecall The recall is due to a problem identified with a tiny number of batteries that
failed, causing overheating, and in rare cases could present a fire hazard.
Customers with affected units will either have the batteries replaced, or the
units exchanged. Garmin will advise us in the course of the next day or two
of the procedure to be followed.
Note: because of the nature of the problem, units identified
as being subject to recall MUST NOT be shipped by air. Logistics team please take special note.
