Sharpen your cycling performance with the Garmin Edge 500 Compact in size with features fit for serious cyclists
Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, announces the Edge 500 –a powerful, sharp-looking, and compact device that will take all cyclists to the next level.
“The Garmin Edge 500 is ideal for performance-driven cyclists who are continuously striving to improve their previous times and fitness levels and with the functionality to review previous cycling performance, this is the ideal tool for assisting improvement,” says Walter Mech, Director of Group Marketing and Sales at Garmin Distribution Africa.
The Garmin Edge 500 is primarily intended to track your cycling progress rather than lead you to your destination. With the Heart Rate Monitor and high sensitivity GPS, the Edge 500 measures speed, distance, time, calories burned, altitude, climb and descent and records this data for your review afterwards. For extra-precise climb and descent data, the Edge 500 also incorporates a barometric altimeter to pinpoint changes in elevation.
The Edge 500 works with third-party ANT+enabled power metres to display the power output in watts as you ride, showing you how hard you're working, regardless of conditions affecting your ride, so you can train more effectively.
Once your ride is completed, the Edge 500 can be connected to a computer with its USB cable to analyse performance. And with a simple click, cyclists can join a worldwide community of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts via Garmin Connect™, a one-stop site for data analysis and sharing.
The Garmin Edge 500 is available at Cape Union Mart and Sportsman’s Warehouse for a recommended retail price (see store price list for details). |
